Since the first match-up that chilly October afternoon back in 2011 The Moors have become familiar foes. Indeed this FA Cup match was followed up just after the next round of the Cup vs Charlton Athletic by a drab 0-0 at The Shay Stadium that November. Jason St. Juste putting a last minute penalty wide of the South Stand’s right hand post.

The reverse fixture was the final league game of the 2011/12 campaign (as The Moors will once more be Town’s final opponents this season on the 30th April 2020). A 2-1 victory with Lee Gregory and loanee Sean Clancy ensure Town enter the Blue Square North Playoffs with a win. The Shaymen losing to Gainsborough Trinity 2-3 over the two legs. Trinity then lost to Nuneaton Town in the Final.

The Moors finished 19th, one point clear of the relegation zone.

It was a repeat score of 0-0 at The Shay in 2012/13 watched by 979 on the 8th January 2013. Town comfortable winners in March that year at Damson Park 3-0. Goals from Liam Needham, Jon Worthington and Dan Gardner. Town going on to win the Blue Square North Playoffs 1-0 at Brackley whilst Solihull finished 9th, 9 points outside those playoff places.

As Town were relegated in 2015/16 Solihull were promoted as Vanarama National League North Champions replacing one another. The following season after Town bounced back at the first attempt they met up once more at Damson Park on the 19th August 2017. A solitary Adam Morgan strike from a Matty Kosylo enough to separate the teams. A Solihull penalty saved moments later.

The reverse fixture saw yet another stalemate at The Shay. Loanee striker Mike Fondop-Talom blazing over at the North Stand end when it looked easier to score. Halifax finishing 16th in the Vanarama National League whilst The Moors were two places below in 18th.

30th October 2018 and a 0-0 at Damson Park, the teams were then drawn together in the 2nd Round of the FA Trophy. Moors cruised into a 0-2 lead before goals from Dayle Southwell just after the hour and an 83rd minute Matty Kosylo free kick meant a replay would be needed.

Moors recorded their first ever victory over The Shaymen at the 10th attempt winning said replay 1-0.

Not to be outdone Town then scored their first ever home league goal vs Moors in a 2-0 victory on the 23rd March. Goals from loanee strikers Manny Duku and Devante Rodney.

Town have kept 8 clean sheets in these 11 match ups, won 5, drawn 5 and lost only 1.

We’ve had 11 separate goalscorers for every goal scored vs Solihull Moors. They are;

Danny Holland, Lee Gregory, Sean Clancy, Liam Needham, Jon Worthington, Dan Gardner, Adam Morgan, Dayle Southwell, Matty Kosylo, Manny Duku & Devante Rodney.
