FC Halifax Town entertain Solihull Moors at the MBi Shay Stadium this Saturday. Here we have a look at their star man Adi Yussuf.

Born in Tanzania, Yussuf began his career at Leicester City. After only performing for the youth, and spending a short loan spell at Tamworth, at the age of 19 he got released from Leicester.

Yussuf was given a trial for Burton Albion, where they ended up signing him on a one-year deal. He spent two years at Burton, playing 25 games, scoring 2 goals. He left for Lincoln at the age of 21 but he was unable to find his feet there and spent his time there out on loan, where he played for clubs like Gainsborough Trinity, Harrogate Town and Histon.

The following season, Yussuf joined Conference North club Oxford City on a one-year deal. This is the point where Yussuf started to show his potential, scoring 27 goals in in 39 games. After a successful season, he made his move back to the football league signing for Mansfield Town on a free transfer. He played 26 games, scoring 5 goals for the season but he only lasted one year at Mansfield.

Yussuf joined Crawley on loan, that only lasted 6 months for him to sign for Grimsby where he played till the end of the 2016-17 season. Yussuf continued his short spells at clubs signing for Barrow in the 17-18 season scoring 5 goals in 21 games.

Following his release from Barrow and Yussuf joined Solihull Moors in January 2018. This season he’s currently Solihull’s top scorer with 15 goals. He’s really started to find his feet at Solihull at the age of 27.
