FC Halifax Town drew 1-1 draw against Solihull Moors in the Vanarama National League tonight.
Following a 1-1 draw with Oxford City, Chris Millington’s side came into the game looking to make it three unbeaten.
Solihull Moors took an early lead through Josh Kelly but it was Jo Cummings on his debut for Town that did enough to share the points.
It was three like-for-like changes for the Shaymen, Luke Summerfield, Angelo Cappello, and Cummings came into the side.
Town’s first passage of play saw Jamie Cooke go for goal; however Tommy Simkin was about to make the save.
The hosts opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, Kelly sent a low shot into the bottom corner.
Just before the break, Town looked for the equaliser. Tylor Golden’s free kick found Rob Harker but the Solihull defence managed to clear the shot.
In the second half, Town applied the pressure. Cappello’s shot on the half volley went wide and Summerfield’s long-range shot went narrowly over the bar.
Solihull made their first change in the 61st minute, ex-Shayman Matt Warburton was replaced by Mark Beck.
Town were level in the 65th minute. Cappello’s corner met the head of Cummings at the back post.
Moments later, Evans replaced Jack Hunter for the Shaymen.
The hosts continued to apply pressure, looking to retake the lead but Town held strong.
A second change for Town saw Max Wright replace Andrew Oluwabori.
With ten minutes to go, Solihull’s goal scorer, Kelly, was replaced by Connor Hall.
In the last moments of normal time, Wright played Golden through on goal but Simkin made a great save to deny him.
Town’s third and final change saw Aaron Cosgrave replace Rob Harker.
FC Halifax Town are next in action on Monday against Gateshead, 3pm kick off at The Shay.
