FC Halifax Town face Solihull Moors in the Vanarama National League on Saturday. This will be the 4th encounter between the two sides this season.

The Shaymen fell to a 2-1 defeat last weekend away to Dover Athletic. Matty Kosylo’s headed finish wasn’t enough as Town failed to come back. Ryan Gondoh came on to make his debut for the Shaymen completing the final six minutes of the game.

In the reverse fixture, the two sides played out a 0-0 draw as Danny Wright missed from the penalty spot, sending his kick well over the bar. Town also played Solihull in the FA Trophy. A 2-2 draw at the Shay after goals from Dayle Southwell and Kosylo meant a replay would be needed. Town travelled to Damson Park but fell to a 1-0 loss meant the Shaymen were out of the competition.

Jamie Fullarton’s side have just two loses in their last 14 league games, losing both by just a single goal. Meanwhile Solihull have three losses in the same time frame but recorded a narrow 2-1 win over bottom side Braintree Town.

Solihull have recorded two consecutive wins which has helped keep them 2nd, level on points with Leyton Orient. A loss would see them drop below Wrexham into 3rd place. Town sit 14th with a win potentially moving the Shaymen up to 12th. A loss for Halifax could see them drop down to as low as 18th.

Solihull’s top scorer so far this season is Adi Yussuf who currently has 12 for the season with three from the penalty spot.

The referee will be Sam Purkiss with assisstants Daniel Woodward and Elliott Heward. The 4th official will be Michael coles.
