We’re delighted to have agreed new contractual terms with Pete Wild & his assistant Chris Millington for a further two years.

The Gaffer on signing his new contract

“Chris and Iย are thrilled to extend our stay at the Club. Since day one we, along with all members of staff have worked tirelessly to ensure we are competitive on and off the pitch. We have been determined to put this club back on the map and give the supporters something to be proud of. We feel weย have laid the foundations of this project and are excited now to put the next layer on top.

“I would like to thank the Chairman for his continuous support, he has been a pleasure to work for, as are all the staff at the club. Without David giving us a chance we would never have had a platform to blossom and for that we’re truly grateful.

“To you the fans,ย we are excited about the next two years and would like nothing more than seeing this Club succeed and push hard for promotion. I can’t wait to see The Shay bouncing again and continuing the journey with this fantastic football club.

The Chairman on securing the managementย team for a further two years

“I’ve been really pleased with the progress Pete & Chris have made since they joined the Club in extremely tough circumstances back in 2019. There is always a risk in appointing management staff with no real previous track record in the role, but it is clear to see that the duo are learning their roles very quickly and progressing as a management team, within a Club with lesser financial resources than many of their competitors. There are clubs throughout the leagues who have a history of achieving success sometimes against the odds, Wycombe Wanderers and AFC Wimbledon amongst those and that is what we are striving to achieve.

“In committing their futures for a further two years I am delighted, as it helps to create the much needed stability we need. Together with his backroom team, he has continued the Club’s progress and developed a different approach which has been embraced by players and supporters alike.

We wish them every success moving forward. Of course they are supported by staff outside of the immediate football staff, so to Louisa, Tony Allan and the recently departed Ben Bottomley, we say a big thank you to those individuals, along with the tremendous support received from our fans, sponsors, the Supporters’ Club and many others.
