FC Halifax Town are delighted to confirm the signing of centre back Shaun Hobson following his departure from Oldham Athletic.
Playing youth football for Fletcher Moss Rangers, Hobson spent time in the academy at Burnley before joining AFC Bournemouth in 2016. Whilst with the Cherries, the defender spent time on loan at Eastbourne Borough in the National League South, Chester and Eastleigh in the National League, and Weymouth, again in the National League South.
Hobson’s next permanent move came in September 2020 where he joined Southend United in League Two. The defender made 48 appearances in all competitions that season, but couldn’t prevent their relegation to the National League. During a three year stint with the Shrimpers Hobson made over 100 appearances. In June 2023, the defender signed for Oldham and made 22 appearances last campaign for the Latics, including an extra time substitute appearance in the playoff final against his former club.
Welcome Shaun
