FC Halifax Town are delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Scott High on loan from League One side Huddersfield Town.

The midfielder came through the academy at Huddersfield and captained the B team side that faced the Shaymen in a friendly in pre-season. High has made over 50 appearances in all competitions for the Terriers senior team and has had various loan spells since 2019. The first and second of which was for Concord Rangers in the National League south where, across both spells, he made eight appearances in all competitions, scoring once. His next loan spell came for League One side Shrewsbury Town for the start of the 2020/21 campaign. Having made 17Β appearances and netted twice, the midfielder returned to Huddersfield in December 2020 and he’d go on to make 14 appearances for the Terriers’ first team in the Championship that season. In July 2022, High joined Championship side Rotherham on loan, initially for the duration of the season, however this was ended early after High made just 15 appearances for the Millers in six months.

September 2023 saw another loan spell for High as he joined Scottish Premiership side Ross County. This time the midfielder was recalled by Huddersfield in January due to a lack of game time and he was sent out on loan to League of Ireland Premier Division club Dundalk until the end of June. High made 14 appearances for the Lilywhites, scoring once in a 2-0 win over Bohemians. High has also featured on seven occasions for the Scotland under 21 team, first being called up in August 2021.
