Today welcomes back the schools half time 5 a side competition after its Christmas break.

We have already seen a host of schools from around Calderdale battle it out on The Shay pitch during the half time interval of an FC Halifax Town fixture.

The Semi Finals are shaping up nicely with St Chads being the first team to qualify after a 4-0 drubbing of Rawson. Salterlee were the next team to book a place in the semi finals, narrowly edging out last years beaten finalists Parkinson Lane.

Savile Park are the third team into the semi finals and will face St Chads. They beat Barkisland 3-1 in a closely fought fixture.

The final semi final spot is to be decided today between St John’s and Holywell Green. Both teams are yet to play in the tournament so far after St John’s got a bye from there first round match.

We hope both teams enjoy their first visit to The Shay season and have a wonderful day out. Can I encourage the fans to get behind the teams whilst they’re playing at Half Time.
