FC Halifax Town fans will have returned home from Tamworth in good spirits after witnessing the Shaymen dispatch the Lambs 6-2 in a thoroughly entertaining game.

Richard Peniket, Matty Kosylo and Adam Morgan all bagged braces and the whole team will be hoping the recent resurgence of positive results continues into this weekend’s fixture against Salford City.

Josh MacDonald is someone looking forward to the prospect of a third consecutive win…

“It’s a massive result; we’re scoring goals so hopefully we can take that into Salford and get another result.”

It’s a big game for both clubs, with Halifax only three points off the playoff places; Salford occupying the last place of those prized positions, in 5th. Josh believes it’s a big three points for both teams, but knows Halifax have what it takes to come away with the victory…

“Like the gaffer said in an interview, it’s a massive month for us. We hit a bad spell but it looks like its turning for us now so hopefully we can kick on and get into the playoffs.”

There was no Tuesday game for the Shaymen, Salford’s game coming on Saturday afternoon. Josh hopes the 7-day break will give himself and his teammates more time to prepare for the game and put themselves in the best position to claim the win…

“We’ve got a week off now and we can go to training and prepare. Understand their strengths and weaknesses and the gaffer will have us ready for the game. Hopefully we can go and get three points.”

Last time out against the Ammies ended 2-2, Kevin Roberts rescuing a point for his team in the dying minutes. MacDonald thinks it’ll be an equally close game at the Shay…

“They’re up there and going for the playoffs so obviously two good teams battling, so it should be a good game”

FC Halifax Town welcome Salford City to the MBi Shay Stadium, kick-off at 3pm.
