Ahead of Salford Cityโ€™s visit to the Shay on Saturday, Ammies supporter and season ticket holder Chris Hughes gives his views on the away sideโ€™s season so far and his prediction for the big match.

How has Salford City’s season gone so far?

Our season has gone better than I expected with the first 9 games unbeaten.ย  Then we hit a sticky patch with only 1 win in 6, which then led to a run of 9 unbeaten again including 7 clean sheets. We are sitting in 5th with only 3 points separating the 3 teams above.

What are the clubs aims for the rest of the season?

We must keep playing football the way we know we can, and keep up our good form.

What do you remember about previous meetings between Halifax Town and Salford City?

We played well, but I was disappointed to concede a late equaliser. It was certainly a better result than when you battered us in the Northern League, 7-1!

You’re unbeaten in the league since October. What would you put your good form down to?

It has all been about finding the right balance. The team have been putting 110% in on the training ground and the managers have got them playing well.

What do you expect from Halifax on Saturday?

I expect a tough game on Saturday at with Halifax scoring 8 goals in the last 2 games. Salfordโ€™sโ€™ back line will have their work cut out if they are to keep another clean sheet, especially with the form of Adam Morgan.

How do you see Saturday’s game going?

Itโ€™s going to be a tough game. As physical as the Ammies are away from home, I wouldnโ€™t be disappointed with a draw.

Finally, give us a score prediction for the game.

I can see both teams scoring on Saturday, so Iโ€™ll predict a 2-2 draw.ย
