FC Halifax Town lost their first game of the season last night as Salford City won 2-1 at the Peninsular Stadium.

Two goals from Adam Rooney either side of Matty Kosylo’s equaliser enough to give Graham Alexander’s side their first win of the season.

Town Captain Matty Brown told the official website after the game,

“It was a tough one to take with the way it ended. We started off poorly, we froze a little in the first half.ย  We have gone in 1-0 down, had a chat and felt we rectified it into the second half

We scored and we were looking dangerous on the counterattack, on another day we get a point of the game. We have to dust ourselves down and go again.”

Town had previously won the opening three games and Brown was not concerned about a downturn in fortune, He said, “We will always still in games, we have that mentality about us and dangerous on the counterattack and we will score goals”.

The captain is happy with the way the four games have gone so far by adding, “If you look at the bigger picture, we would have taken 9 points out of the first 4 games. We can’t dwell on things and we’ll move onto Saturday’s game against Dagenham & Redbridge.”

He concluded, ” We can’t get upset by bad results like we can’t get carried on with good results too.
