FC Halifax Town take on Salford City on Saturday in The National League at The Shay (3pm KO). Ahead of the game, hereโ€™s a look at some of the players to have played for both FC Halifax Town and Salford Cityโ€ฆ

Sam Walker (Midfielder) – Walker joined Town for the 2015-16 season from National League North side Curzon Ashton. During his time in West Yorkshire, Walker played 24 times for The Shaymen and was a part of the squad which won The FA Trophy in May 2016.

Once the 2015-16 season had concluded, Walker left Town and signed for Saturdayโ€™s opponents Salford City. It was another successful season for Walker as Salford gained promotion to The National League North – the highest level the club had played at in that moment in time. The 2017-18 season saw Walker remain at Salford, however during the January transfer window, Walker returned to Curzon on loan for the remainder of the 2017-18 season. This season, Walker made the move to Stockport County.

Gareth Seddon (Forward) – Seddon signed for Halifax prior to the start of the 2012-13 season. Seddon played 32 times for The Shaymen during this season, scoring 13 goals. This was to be Seddonโ€™s only season at The Shay as he moved to Chester in May 2013. Following on from his move to Chester, Seddon signed for Salford in the summer of 2014. He spent two seasons at the club, appearing 60 times scoring 26 goals.

Liam Hogan (Defender) – Hogan began his professional career with The Shaymen in 2010 after leaving boyhood club Woodley Sports. He spent three years in West Yorkshire, weighing in with three goals during his time with the club. Hogan experienced two promotions with the club as in his first season, Halifax gained promotion to The Conference North and in his last season with the club, Halifax were promoted to The Conference Premier. In May 2013, Hogan confirmed he would be joining Fleetwood Town, bringing his association with The Shaymen to an end. Hogan spent two years in Lancashire before spending time at Macclesfield Town, Tranmere Rovers and Gateshead. In 2017, Hogan signed for Salford City and has been ever-present for the side since then.

Lois Maynard (Midfielder) – Maynard signed for Town in 2013 from Winsford United. The midfielder spent two seasons with The Shaymen, making 85 appearances as well as contributing with 13 goals. His time at Halifax came to an end in 2015 when he signed for Tranmere Rovers. Maynard played for Tranmere until May 2017 as he then made the move to Salford. Maynard has also been an ever-present for the side, so far making 54 appearances for the club scoring seven goals.

Other players associated with Halifax Town and Salford City: Sam Walker, Gareth Seddon, Liam Hogan, Lois Maynard, Osebi Abidaki, Phil Bolland, Bohan Dixon, Daniel Ellis, Paul Gedman, Darren Hockenhull, Neil Redfearn, Carl Rezai and Nathan Taylor.
