We’re pleased to confirm that brand new Pitch Covers will be arriving at the Shay within the next two weeks. Getting Pitch Covers in place in time for the coming winter has been the number one priority over the last few months for the Supporters’ Club Committee and we are pleased to announce that after working with the club, who in turn have worked with Calderdale Council, we have together come up with the specifications and funding to make this happen.
The remedial work that took place on the Shay pitch over the summer has gone well and we hope that the new covers will help preserve the surface for as long as possible. There are still underlying issues with the Shay pitch which require a long term solution but even if we can save just a couple of games in the meantime it will have been money well spent.
The Supporters’ Club share of the cost has primarily been met through the great support we have received from the £2k Wall, Skircoat 50/50 and donations. It would be great to hear from anyone wishing to join either scheme, or the Goal-O-Meter, to help support our next initiative.
