FC Halifax Town will travel down to east London this Saturday to face Vanarama National League leaders Leyton Orient at Brisbane Road. Here we will look at Orients Star player.

With 21 goals this season in the league so far, it is hard to look past striker Macaulay Bonne. The Orient striker sits third in the top scorer standings behind Eastleigh’s Paul McCallum with 22 goals and with 26 goals is Fylde’s Danny Rowe.

The Zimbabwe international has a lethal goal conversion record, scoring every 167 minutes played this season in the league. For his Orient record since joining in 2017 is 43 goals in 84 games.

But the 24-year-old striker hasn’t always been this prolific in-front of goal. Bonnes’ career began at Colchester United. In four years at the club Bonne racked up 75 first team appearances but only put the ball in the back of the net seven times. During his spell with The U’s Bonne was sent out to Lincoln City and Woking on short term loan deals. Bonne only made eight and seven appearances and only scoring once for each club. Bonne then joined Orient that summer in 2017 and has discovered a lethal goal scoring skill for The O’s. Scoring 22 goals in his first season finishing the 2017/18 season third in the top scorers’ standings.

If you are unable to make it down to Brisbane Road this Saturday, you can listen to live commentary from the ground on Shaymen Audio from 2:50pm for a 3pm kick off.
