FC Halifax Town U19s B team shared the points with Oldham Athletic in a 2-2 draw at the Wyke Sports Village in the National League U19 Division H

There was an early chance for Town, Anson Younis made a darting run down the left flank and drilled the ball across the box but there was nobody who was able to get on the end and convert it to open the scoring

There were excellent pressing skills displayed by Seb Bolton sliding to win the ball back from the last defender, he tested the goalkeeper from range but the strike was comfortably parried away

Bolton and Luke Brooks were linking up well with Bolton flicking it on to his counterpart, Brooks’ cross was blocked.  From the resulting throw in the ball was sent into the box and with an overcrowded area it seemed that the ball went over the line but the officials waved play on to keep it zero goals apiece

Another chance was made from Bolton on the right side of the pitch, cutting in onto his favoured left foot and wrapping it to the near post and out for a goal kick

HALF TIME: FC Halifax Town B 0-0  Oldham Athletic

After the half-time interval, it only took 28 seconds until the opportunity came for Town, a penalty. A reckless challenge from the Oldham defender in the box resulted in a spot kick for Town. Brooks stepped up to slot the penalty away and a lovely finish tucked in the bottom right gave Town the lead they deserved

In the 52nd minute, Town made it 2-0. Brooks involved again assisting Harry Carmody. Outstanding tiki-taka style played in the box and a flick full of flair from Brooks found Carmody who converted to double the lead

Carmody wanted to take matters into his own hands, with the ball at his feet from 25 yards out. He struck it with sheer force and it was flying into the top right until the goalkeeper sprung off the ground and made a wonder save to deny Town from taking a 3-0 lead

Oldham pulled a goal back in the 60th minute, the striker found space in the box and converted to make it 2-1

A clear-cut chance for Town to kill the game in the 78th minute, Hamza Hamdosh weaving in and out of the box ran through and squared it across goal. But a last-ditch clearance from the Oldham defender prevented Town from finishing the match

In the 87th minute, Oldham equalised. A miss-hit cross ended up rolling in the net to make it 2-2 just before the death

In the final minute, Town went all out to try and claim the 3 points back, but unfortunately they were held to just 1 point after the match finished 2-2
