FC Halifax Town will entertain Oldham Athletic at the SMH Stadium in Chesterfield on Thursday night in the Vanarama National League.
Town moved back out of the play-offs on Wednesday night with Aldershot Town’s 1-0 victory at Gateshead.
The Shaymen know that a minimum of a point would move them back into the play-off places due to a better goal difference than Aldershot. A win would put Town two points above the Shots with just one game left for both sides at the weekend.
Town need to get back to winning ways after a 0-0 draw at the Wham Stadium in midweek against Ebbsfleet and a 2-0 defeat to 2nd placed Barnet at the weekend.
Chris Millington’s side won 2-0 away at Kidderminster on the 6th April in their last victory thanks to two goals from Max Wright.
Oldham still have an outside chance of the play-off places from 0f 10th place. They can go level on points with Aldershot with two wins as their goal difference is better that the Shots.
However they haven’t won since a 2-1 victory at Eastleigh back on the 27th February which is a run of 9 games without a win.
They have picked up 9 victories on the road, 8 draws and 5 defeats so far.
James Norwood is their top goalscorer with 17 goals in 38 games.
Town won the return fixture 2-1 back in August. Rob Harker put the Shaymen ahead, Mark Shelton equalised but defender Adam Senior sealed the victory with his second half goal.
