FC Halifax Town welcome Oldham Athletic to the Wyke Sports Village today at 2pm in Division ‘H’ of the National League U19 Alliance.

The Young Shaymen registered their first league win of the season last Wednesday in a convincing 2-0 at home to Eccleshill United.

A bright future is on the horizon for Favour Gold, who once again had his shooting boots on and netted for his side.

After their win, Halifax are full of confidence going into the Oldham game. The young Latics sit rock bottom of the group having not won a game all season.

As well as this, Oldham have conceded the most amount of goals in the league, with a goal difference of –26. Town will be licking their lips at what seems to be the perfect fixture to grab another victory and climb the table.

If they are to win it won’t see them climb any places up the league but it will allow them to march closer to those above them in hope of climbing the league in the second half of the season.

The Latics last game involved them falling to a strong Farsley Celtic side. It’s safe to say that a confidence shot Oldham side desperately need a win to gain more moral this season.

Although Town are favorites going into the game, it will be a tough fixture despite what Oldham’s form may suggest. Oldham will put up a large fight as they are in search for a much needed 3 points.

The Academy League team are without a fixture this week after an impressive 6-1 win at Boston United last Wednesday.  They return to action in a cup game on the 13th December, as they host Blyth Spartans.
