FC Halifax Town will take on Oldham Athletic in front of the BT Sport cameras on Saturday in the Vanarama National League, 5.20pm kick-off.
The Shaymen will host Oldham for the first time in a competitive game since 1974 knowing a win would move them above their local neighbours.
Town will start the game in 19th place, a point and a place below Oldham in the table after Tuesday night’s defeat at 2nd placed Wrexham which stopped a run of three league games without defeat.
Last time out at the Shay, Town won 2-0 against Dagenham thanks to second half goals from Mani Dieseruvwe and Jesse Debrah.
Oldham were relegated from the Football League last season and are 18th in the table. They were defeated 1-0 at Altrincham in midweek thanks to Chris Conn-Clark’s second half goal.
They have only won once in their last six games which was a 2-0 victory over Yeovil Town at Boundary Park, each of their victories this season have all come on home soil.
There will be some familiar faces in the Oldham ranks with Liam Hogan, Lois Maynard, Dan Gardner, Charlie Cooper and Mike Fondop-Talom all in the visiting ranks whilst Chris Millington will be in charge of the Shaymen having worked with former Town boss Pete Wild at Oldham.
