FC Halifax Town will make the short trip to Oldham Athletic in the Vanarama National League play-off eliminator on Wednesday night, 7.45pm kick-off.

The Shaymen finished the season in 6th position in the table and face 5th placed Oldham at Boundary Park.

Town have won 10 games away from home, 8 draws and just five defeats during the league campaign with the join best defence in the league conceding just 22 goals in 23 games alongside York City.

Chris Millington’s side will be backed by over 1800 fans making the trip across to Oldham and the prize for both sides is a trip to York City in the play-off semi-finals on Tuesday night.

Oldham beat bottom of the table Ebbsfleet United 2-0 on the final day of the season, lost 1-0 away at Forest Green and drew 1-1 with York City in their previous games.

They have picked up 14 points compared to Town’s 8 points from the last 24 on offer.

The two sides have met three times so far this season, with the two sides drawing 1-1 at the Shay back in September, whilst Oldham won the return leg 2-0 in March. They also knocked Town out of the FA Cup with a 4-2 win back in October in the 4th qualifying round.

Former Town striker Mike Fondop is their top goalscorer with 19 league goals this season.

The winners will travel to York in the play-off semi-finals on Tuesday night.
