Good afternoon, and welcome to you all. Looking back, the start of this season seems an absolute age ago, and many moons have passed since we opened our account at the home of today’s visitors.

Today however, we look forward to the culmination of the current campaign, and in particular to the Club’s End of Season Draw, which as usual will be organised by the Supporters Club.

First prize is a cash offering of £150, but as ever this will be backed up by a host of other prizes. We are still working to finalise the full list, which will be published in a future edition of these programme notes. Tickets cost £1 apiece, and will be distributed (by post) initially among Supporters Club members, although anyone else who would like to take a few tickets to sell among friends and/or workmates is obviously more than welcome.

The tickets can be returned to any Supporters Club Committee member, to Secretary Roger Bottomley at the address shown on the tickets, or by simply dropping them off with the bucket collectors inside the turnstiles at every home fixture.

The reason that a full listing of prizes is not yet available is that we ask for donations of prizes from businesses or individuals, and we still expect a number of offerings to add to those already procured. If you have anything to donate, the contacts are the same as those mentioned in the paragraph above.

Our final appeal is for everyone to put accurate contact details on each ticket (and check the list of winning numbers) to avoid a repeat of the embarrassing situation last year, when it proved impossible to contact one of the major prize winners. Multiple attempts to call the mobile number on the ticket, plus publicity in our programme notes earlier this season drew a total blank. Unfortunately, it’s the ticket holder that loses out when this happens, so please help to ensure it doesn’t happen to you!
