Kieran Green showcased a marvellous performance yesterday evening, as he helped the Shaymen in the centre of the park before slotting in as a centre back in the 3-2 win over Notts County.

The match at the Shay Stadium was one of the most dramatic games to have been witnessed in a long time, with County taking a 2-0 lead before Town’s Tom Bradbury was shown a red card. However, even with ten men, FC Halifax Town still pushed on and won the match via Jordan Slew, Matty Warburton and Billy Waters’ goals.

When Halifax went down to ten men, Green slotted in at centre back which he spoke to Shaymen TV about; “Sometimes you’ve just got to do your part and I tried my best there,” Green said to sum up his move to centre back. Before adding on his two pivotal tackles to keep Town in the game; “I won’t talk it down, but I was just in the right place at the right time, and I’m happy to have made the challenges for myself, the team, and the fans.”

Kieran later moved on to give his thoughts on the match as a whole; “There were plenty of ups and downs in the game, but ultimately we came out on top,” he said. “Games like these don’t come around very often, so we’ve just got to enjoy it whilst it’s here.”

The midfielder later went on to say how he felt when the side was 2-0 down with a man less on the pitch; “I actually felt confident because that’s the group we have – everyone plays for each other. It’s a credit to all the boys and a credit to all the staff for the environment they’ve created,” Kieran summarised. “We knew we would get chances, and that we were always in the game, but you’ve just got to put your chances away, and that’s what we did.”
