Tahvon Campbellโ€™s first goal for FC Halifax Town saw The Shaymen record their first win at Meadow Lane since 1968.ย  Sub Campbell made an immediate impact having joined the game a matter of seconds before hitting the winner in a richly deserved 2-1 win.

Jamie Allen came in for fellow forward Tahvon Campbell in the only change to Saturdayโ€™s winning line up at Wealdstone.

From the first whistle Town were on their game.ย  Neat passing, pressing the opposition into mistakes resulted in the majority of possession.ย  Jamie Allen had a low cross cleared before Jack Earing latched onto a Jake Hyde flick with his shot turned over the bar by Sam Slocombe in the Notts County goal.

A mazy run from Earing saw him beat defender after defender with Slocombe alert to save well at his near post.ย  The Magpies first sight of goal came from left back Jordan Barnett who tried his luck from 30 yards with Sam Johnson watching the shot go wide.ย  Hyde and Martin Woods both tried their luck from distance but couldnโ€™t find the target.ย  The attacking continued with Jack Senior getting in behind the defence and his low cross found Jeff King but his first time shot was blocked for a corner.

The dominance got itโ€™s just reward in the 28th minute when Senior found Earing in space.ย  He advanced towards goal on the left and his low cross was converted by Hyde for his 2nd goal in 4 days and 6th of the season.

Ruben Rodrigues tried his luck from the edge of the area but with Sam Johnsonโ€™s save comfortable.ย  And the same player brought another save from the Town keeper minutes later at County finally enjoyed some possession.ย  Former Town loanee Kyle Wootton header over a left wing cross but Town had the final attack of the half with Kingโ€™s run winning a corner on the right which was cleared.

County came out a different team in the 2nd half, enjoying more of the ball but they were held at bay by a resolute Town defence.ย  Barnett hit his free kick into the wall and sent a curling cross narrowly off target.ย  Town replied with a goal bound Kieran Green effort deflected away for a corner.

An injury to Jack Senior forced a defensive reshuffle with Jamie Allen moving back to wing back and he was harshly adjudged to have found Rodrigues in the area and the Referee awarded a penalty.ย  Substitute Elisha Sam took the spot kick which Sam Johnson saved to his right but in the next phase of play Enzio Boldewijn cut infield from the right, beat a number of challenges and shot home from 18 yards out.

A Jeff King shot almost caught Slocombe out at his near post before Pete Wild made an inspired substation replacing Allen with Campbell and the Cheltenham loanee came up trumps when he received the ball from Earing and unleashed a shot into the net to give his side a second win on their travels in 4 days.
