Goals at each end of game settled the score as FC Halifax Town drew 1-1 against Notts County at the Shay.

The visitors opened the scoring on the 6th minute as a through ball found Elisha Sam. A very good touch allowed him to slot it past Sam Johnson to make it 1-0.

As both sides settled down, the Shaymen produced a good chance. Jack Senior making a run from left wing-back all the way through middle. Senior got all the way to the edge of the box but his shot didnโ€™t match the run and Slocombe picked it up under no pressure.

Once again Town came close as Jamie Allen fashioned a chance down the right. A low cross into the box found Martin Woods, a quick flick-up and shot saw the ball going in but Notts cleared it off the line for a corner.

Four minutes before half time and Halifax created another good chance. Woods got the ball into Jake Hyde but Notts County threw some bodies in front of it to put it out for a corner. Woods sent the ball in but the visitors got it clear.

With two minutes added on Town hit the post. A good cross from Tom Bradbury found Niall Maher who headed back across goal and Kieran Green smacked it with power but an outstanding save saw it pushed on to the post post as Notts County just about held onto the lead going into the break.

After a relatively slow start to the second half, Halifax came close in the 72nd minute. A Summerfield shot was well blocked and it fell to substitute Gevaro Nepomuceno. He fired a curling shot towards goal but the visitors blocked it for a corner.

A few minutes later and County fire a shot towards goal. Jake Reeves made a driving run forward and his striker looked destined to the corner but Johnson was able to reach it and push it behind for a corner.

10 minutes from time and Notts County should have had the game wrapped up. A great through ball found substitute Callum Roberts but he could only drag his shot wide.

Up the other end and Town should have scored. Summerfield found himself out wide and he played a pass across the box and found Nepomuceno, but he could not get his effort on target.

Deep into added time and Town had their equaliser. Jamie Allen raced through on goal and despite Slocombe getting a hand to it, the keeper could not stop it going into the back of the net.

The results sees the Shaymen climb to 18th. Meanwhile Notts County remain 12th. Up next for Town is a home fixture against Torquay United 3:00pm kick off.
