Matlock won the FA Trophy in 1975, beating Scarborough 4-0 at Wembley Stadium.
In 2010/11 Matlock beat Bedworth United 10-0 at home in an FA Trophy fixture, with striker Ross Hannah, now of Barrow, scoring seven.

This equaled the club’s record win, which was another 10-0 victory against Lancaster City in 1975.

One end of the club’s ground, Causeway Lane, is actually a cricket field.
Matlock’s nickname is the Gladiators.
Their main rivals are Peak District neighbours Buxton, but Derbyshire clubs Alfreton, Belper and Ilkeston are all local matches.
An episode of the Sky One TV series Starlings was filmed at their ground. It featured players, officials and supporters acting as extras.
The Gladiators won the first ever Derbyshire Senior Cup Final to be played at Derby County’s Pride Park Stadium with a comfortable 2-0 victory over neighbours Belper Town.
The record attendance at Causeway Lane is 5123, the semi final of the 1974/75 FA Trophy against Burton Albion.
Incredibly, last weekend’s home game against Hednesford Town was their first Saturday home game since October 1st, and first in the league since September 10th.
