FC Halifax Town U19s provided an excellent home performance, defeating Marine 4-1.
The Shaymen were full of energy from the opening whistle, as they were first to loose balls and challenges all over the pitch. This fast tempo labour would bear fruit in the opening 30 minutes with goals from Josh Finch and Barney Wiggins in the 15th and 25th minutes to put The Town two goals to the good heading into the break.
However, Marine weren’t going down without a fight as Halifax manager Nick Spooner would comment “they’re a very physical team.” And the visitors would pull one back on the hour mark through a penalty. With Marine finally getting a grip on the game the home side needed a solution to put the game to bed, and in the 80th minute their prayers were answered as substitute Jayden Parchment would reinstate The Town’s two goal cushion. Even though the game seemed to be won Parchment didn’t think so as he would double his goal tally for the day and finish off the visitors, making the final score FC Halifax Town 4-1 Marine.
