Maidenhead United: Match Preview

FC Halifax Town will make the trip south tomorrow to take on 20th placed Maidenhead United at York Road, 3pm kick-off.

The Shaymen start the game top of the Vanarama National League a point above second placed Chesterfield who have a game in hand.

Town are unbeaten in their last seven games and have picked up 24 points from the last 33 on offer losing only 1 in the last 11 league games.

Goals have been flowing for the Shaymen in a row of 9 league games where the Shaymen have scored at least one scoring 17 in the process.

Last time out for the Shaymen they were in FA Trophy action and progressed to the 5th round with a penalty shoot out win at Billy Heath’s Alfreton Town following a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes.

Wins over Grimsby Town and Eastleigh in the last two league games have seen five goals scored and none conceded, Town will be hoping for more of same at Maidenhead.

Our hosts were in action on Tuesday night with the visit of 2nd placed Chesterfield to York Road and it was the Magpies who came out on top with a 3-2 win over the Spireites.

It was back to back home wins in the league for Maidenhead after a 1-0 win over Bromley in their previous home match.

They have won five at home this season and just one away which came at the Shay on the opening day of the season. Dover, Woking, Wrexham, Bromley and Chesterfield have all left York Road empty handed this season.
