A hard-fought victory seen us overcome Maidenhead United with a wonderful strike from our top goal-scorer Liam McAlinden to win us the game 1-0 at York Road. We spoke to Liam after the game to find out his thoughts on the game, and how he scored that BEAUTY!

Liam praised the Shaymen, as he thought it was a great win, making it two away wins in a row and itโ€™s a massive positive going into the next two home games coming up against Chorley and Boreham Wood.

We asked Liam his thoughts about his goal, he was a bit shocked by the goal himself, as he said; It just broke to me on the edge of the box and I put it in the bottom corner, it was a bit early on, so we were just settling in, Iโ€™ve hit it, itโ€™s a good strike and found its way into the bottom corner. Going 1-0 up so early and coming away with the win, showed the character of this team.”

McAlinden described Maidenhead as a โ€˜toughโ€™ place to go after making it a second away win in a row after last weekendโ€™s hard-fought victory away to Dover. Liam believes the character of the squad got us through it and puts us in a good position for Tuesday.

After the Shaymen went top of the league after the Bromley dropping points, Liam stated that the belief has been with us all season when it comes to us winning games, the league doesnโ€™t matter a lot at the minute with over 30 games to go, we got to keep doing what weโ€™re doing and see where we end up.

Liam expects another tough, physical test against Chorley, but with our good home form bar the odd slip up, he feels we have what it takes to come away with the three points.
