FC Halifax Town were beaten 1-0 by Maidenhead in a scrappy game at the MBI Shay Stadium.

After the game, Shaymen TV spoke to Jacob Hanson to get his thoughts on the game.

“We’ll obviously, we are disappointed. Losing 1-0 to a team that’s below us in the league is always hard. I think we struggled to get the ball forward and create any chances. We didn’t really create any chances for much of the game.”

Ayo Obileye scored the only goal of the game, converting from the penalty spot. Hanson told us his view of that decision.

“There were so many men around the ball so I couldn’t really tell if it was a foul or not. From my angle, I didn’t really think so but like I said I couldn’t really see.”

Hanson told us that the game was difficult for the Shaymen, especially as it was hard to play passing football.

“The surface isn’t really the best, but we’ve got to adapt to it and play better than we have today.”

Hanson has had a spell out with Michael Duckworth putting in some good performances at right back. The injury to Duckworth meant Hanson was given his chance back in the starting 11.

“Obviously, it’s great to be back in the team again after a spell sitting on the sidelines and in the stands.”

Manny Duku and Devante Rodney were announced to be staying at the Shay until the end of the season, Hanson tells us the impact of the pair.

Since they’ve come in, they have been good, we’ve scored a lot more goals. They’re both a big physical presence with speed and power. So, it’s always going to be a good thing they’re still here.”

Leyton Orient is up next for The Shaymen, Hanson tells us how he sees that game.

“Obviously they’re top of the league and we know it’s going to be a hard game. But we’re just going to have to go, put in a good performance and see what we can get out of that.”
