Following successive Buildbase FA Trophy fixtures, it is all eyes back on league football as FC Halifax Town host Leyton Orient.

Billy Heath and his men will be hoping to put their exit from the Trophy behind them as they go into the encounter at the MBi Shay Stadium.

It took until extra time for Craig Harrisonโ€™s Orient side to get the better of Bognor in their Trophy tie on Saturday afternoon, which could work to the advantage of The Shaymen, who will look to replicate the 3-0 win over their opposition earlier in the season.

Halifax enter the fixture having won once in their previous 6 games in all competitions, with a victory in the Vanarama National League in 2018 yet to be achieved.

Of those matches, they have also seen out 2 0-0 draws away at 2 difficult places in Dover Athletic and Maidenhead United.

The run has also seen them lose 3 times, including twice against Macclesfield Town and their 4-1 cup defeat to Maidenhead United at the weekend.

Leyton Orient are also still awaiting their first league win of the New Year, but have seemingly coped better in recent results.

The Brisbane Road outfit have only lost once in their last 8 in all competitions, with the sole defeat coming against Bromley at the end of December.

The festive period saw The O’s go on a 4-game winning streak, which included an impressive 4-1 victory over 3rd placed Sutton United.
