FC Halifax Town drew 0-0 against Havant and Waterlooville in a tight clash at the MBI Shay Stadium.
After the game, Shaymen TV spoke to James Hardy to gather his thoughts on the game.
โI thought it was a tough game. We started well and the sending off obviously changed the game, however, I thought going into half time we were still the better team even though we were down to ten men. It was tough in the second half to be fair, they moved the ball a lot better than in the first half and dragged us about. We maybe could have nicked it at the end, but it was probably a fair result in the end.โ
The Shaymen did create chances, especially in the first half, starting the game at a very fast tempo.
โWe probably created enough chances to score. Since Iโve joined it was probably the best start to a game weโve had, in terms of looking like we were going to score. Just didnโt quite fall for us but I thought we looked good at the start of the game.โ
In his third appearance for the club, Hardy feels heโs starting to find his feet.
โI probably got on the ball a bit more today. Iโm getting used to playing with everyone, theyโre getting used to playing with me. The sending off changed it and it was harder to get on the ball, but I still think I did alright.โ
James Berrett was sent off in the 31stminute for a high tackle on Theo Lewis, Hardy spoke on how this changed the game.
โIt was one of those that could have gone either way. Itโs unfortunate for us but weโve just got to get on with it. With one less man obviously we had to do more running, but I thought we handled it well and we worked our socks off to get the point. I couldnโt really get forward as much after the incident, but Iโve just got to do my best for the team really.โ
Hardy only signed from AFC Fylde last Saturday and is already settling into the club nicely.
โIโm really enjoying it here and Iโm just buzzing to be back playing after a lengthy time out. All the lads have been good to me since Iโve joined. Hopefully, game by game I can improve as my fitness improves.โ
