Gevaro Nepomuceno has hit the ground running since joining FC Halifax Town – he scored and won a penalty in the win over Hartlepool in the Bulildbase FA Trophy. He Spoke to ShaymenTV after the match.
Nepomuceno started the interview by giving his feelings on the victory over Hartlepool; “I thought we had a good game; everyone wants to win and try and have a cup run. I’m happy to get through and we go again.”
As mentioned Gevaro scored a goal in the game and he spoke upon this; “I’m happy, of course this was my second goal for the club – a club I’m happy to be a part of. Overall, I hope I can keep scoring.”
The Shaymen led 2-0, before being pulled back to 2-2, then going 3-2 up and then drawing 3-3 in normal time. However, the Town attacker was confident the side would pull through; “To be honest, we had 20 minutes where we applied all the pressure before Hartlepool came into the game, but there was no doubt that come the end of the game we would win.”
The Curaçao international has been at the Club for a couple of months, and he assessed how his time has gone so far; “I’m feeling amazing – thank you to the manager and staff. There’s a great group of boys here, we are doing amazing as well. I am really happy to be a part of the group.”
Gevaro had previously worked with Pete Wild in their Oldham Athletic days, and Nepomuceno touched upon their relationship; “I am very happy to work for him – we had a great working relationship at Oldham, and here. My decision was an easy one to come here and work with him again.”
Up next on Tuesday at the Shay we host Eastleigh FC. Gevaro previewed the game by saying; “We have a lot of confidence in the team, so I will be predicting a win for that game!”
