FC Halifax Town under-19โs manager Mark Trueman has said that a fast start will be crucial as his side prepare to travel to Harrogate this afternoon (2pm kick-off).
Halifax were knocked out of the FA Youth Cup in the last fixture as they suffered a 2-1 away defeat to Hartlepool United at Victoria Park.
After conceding two goals in the first 15 minutes against Hartlepool last time out, Trueman has said that his side canโt afford a similar beginning this time out.
โOur game-plan, to be really positive from the start,โ revealed Trueman. โItโs hard if you are where Harrogate are in the league, having lost a few games, to concede early, itโs hard to get momentum back from there.
โItโs definitely a game that we want to win. Weโve got to be confident in our own ability. We obviously won the league last year, whereas Harrogate are new to the league this season.โ
โItโs important for us to start bright, get at them and hopefully we can get an early goal and build on that.โ
Trueman has said that heโs looking to transfer his teamโs work in training onto the playing field.
โItโs a good chance to turn what weโve been working on in training into practise,โ Trueman continued.
โWe want to work on the things weโve been working on in training and put it into practise. I think itโs a game that I expect us to perform in and hopefully the performance will be good enough and lead to a positive result and win the game.โ
โBut, weโre not going to look into the past results of Harrogate. Itโs all about us performing and learning from the last game really. Thatโs my focus. Iโm expecting us to perform well and hopefully get us the result.โ
We will have live updates of Harrogate U19s vs FC Halifax Town U19s on Twitter and Snapchat.
