FC Halifax Town fell to a 1-0 defeat against fellow Yorkshire side Harrogate Town. Manager Pete Wild spoke to Shaymen TV to give his thoughts, the slow start, the late goal, and looking ahead to Dover.
On the gameβ¦
He said: βI thought we totally dominated the game. We were the only side that looked like winning it. We missed chances. When you donβt take chances, you donβt win football matches. They hit us with a sucker punch at the end. Really disappointing as it was a game, I thought we dominated, especially second half. We were a little bit flat first half, we need a gee up. In the second half there was only one team that wanted to win the game.β
On the slow startβ¦
He said: βWe looked tired from Saturday. That annoys me, as we really shouldnβt be. When we got going in the second half, I thought we drove with the ball well. I thought we created chances, but youβve got to take them.β
On the late goalβ¦
He said: βIt was very harsh. But youβve got to concentrate for 90 minutes. You need to make sure you see games out. But we didnβt do so. It was a scrappy goal and a really disappointing goal to give away, especially after some good work in the second half.β
Looking ahead to Doverβ¦
He said: βWeβll regroup and make sure that weβre ready and raring to go. We need to bounce back once again. Itβs not a case of ripping it up and starting again. We were the better side tonight. We havenβt got over the line and scored the goal we needed to score. Itβs now about taking our chances.β
