FC Halifax Town U19s were defeated at home by Gateshead 1-0 this week. The Town came flying out the gates in the fixture, as they struck the crossbar twice in the opening 20 minutes of the game, with efforts coming from Kameron Ali and Luke Brooks.

Halifax and Brooks kept pushing for an opener as his volleyed effort forced an excellent save from the Gateshead keeper. The visitors replied with a dangerous headed effort which produced a good save from Ben Noble. Despite the chances, both sides went into half time goalless.

The Town started the second half on top; however, Gateshead found the opener in the 55th minute through a crossed ball which the striker converted from six yards. Halifax didn’t take long to react as they had a huge chance to equalise, when Jayden Cuffe rounded the keeper only to be denied by a last-ditch challenge. The Town’s frustrations were shown when Luke Brooks was put in the book for a reckless challenge. The game finished 1-0 to Gateshead despite Halifax’s best efforts.

The 19s are next in action on the 2nd of October at 14:00 when they face Solihull Moors away.
