FC Halifax Town are delighted to confirm the signing of Florent Hoti following his release from League Two side Tranmere Rovers.

The midfielder began his career at fellow National League side Rochdale’s academy, going on to sign a two-year scholarship in 2017. In September 2018, Hoti made his senior debut as a second half substitute against Bury in the EFL Trophy and was offered his first professional contract at the end of that season.

Following a successful trial with Scottish Premiership side Dundee United in August 2020, the midfielder signed a two-year deal. In October 2020, Hoti spent time on loan at Forfar Athletic before returning to Dundee in January due the suspension of the lower leagues in Scotland as a result of Covid-19. Hoti made his debut for Dundee in April 2021 against Hamilton Academical in a 1-0 win. In November 2022, Hoti signed for Scottish Championship side Arbroath on a short term deal, lasting until the end of January 2023, where he then joined Tranmere, again on a short term deal.

Hoti is eligible to play for England, Kosovo, and Albania due to his parents. The midfielder was called up to the Albania under-21 side in March 2021, but was unable to join the squad due to Covid-19 travel restrictions. In May 2021, Hoti was called up to represent Kosovo under-21s in a UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier against Andorra under-21s where he would make his debut. Hoti has gone on to make eight appearances for Kosovo under-21s.

Welcome Florent
