FC Halifax Town suffered a 2-0 defeat at Fleetwood Town earlier today.

The hosts took an early lead, with a goal coming from a corner in the 11th minute. The Fleetwood man rose highest to head the ball towards goal, helped on by a deflection.

Just before half time, the Fleetwood ‘keeper was called into action to save Trialist C’s close range effort.

The Shaymen went into the break a goal down, and it was all change as they headed back out for the second half.

Town were almost level just past the hour mark, with Tom Pugh finding Trialist G. His effort clipped the inside of the post and rolled across the face of goal before being gathered by the ‘keeper.

A heavy deflection became the undoing of a solid performance in the 78th minute, with the hosts holding a two goal lead.

The 88th minute saw Trialist G replace Owen Bray.

It was almost late redemption for Town, with Charlie Hayes-Green’s volley going just over.

It ended 2-0 to Fleetwood. Town are next in action in a BCD fixture on Saturday.
