FC Halifax Town are delighted to welcome First Bus as an official partner to support greener goals of the Club and the bus operator.
First Bus is the largest operator in West Yorkshire carrying some 350,000 people a day across the region including use of the fleet based at their depot in Halifax.
They have a clear strategy to reduce their emissions and create cleaner air in towns and cities. This is being achieved with diesel buses operating to the best ultra-low emissions standards and a growing fleet of all-electric vehicles.
John Godfrey, Head of Marketing for First West Yorkshire, said: “We’re delighted to begin this partnership with the Club and build on our shared goal of helping to reduce the carbon footprint of football fans.
“Anticipation is clearly growing early in the season and we’re ready to do more to connect local people to the club they love. We will be at the heart of the matchday experience as fans travel to see the players in action and have a great value ticket offer to help them get to the stadium.”
He added: “Taking the bus is not only a more sustainable way to travel, it also helps to reduce congestion, which is a benefit to all road users.”
FC Halifax Town’s Commercial Director, John Williams commented: “This partnership we’ve agreed is one that supports First Bus with reducing emissions and cleaner air in our town.
