FC Halifax Town Youth Team offers a two-year scholarship to promising players who and will combine full time professional football training with a study programme delivered in partnership with Calderdale College. The programme includes:
- Technical/tactical training: Three-four weekly sessions by a team of coaches all qualified to UEFA B or above, covering team training, technical sessions, position specific sessions, analysis.
- Strength & conditioning: Two weekly sessions aimed at developing specific aspects of player movement and physical performance.
- Competition: Participation in the FA Youth Cup, the National League Academy League and the National League Alliance League.
- Facilities, medical support and staffing: We operate in a professional environment with excellent facilities and highly qualified staff dedicated to giving scholars every chance to succeed.
- Education: BTEC / NCFE Level Sport Level 3. A fully recognised qualification for UCAS applications leading to university.
- Status & pathway: We are a fully recognised National League Academy and provide a pathway for talented players to progress towards the FC Halifax Town first team.
Our Youth Team programme is developing a strong reputation for its professionalism and player development, most notably; Carl Rushworth (England U21 & Brighton FC), Jay Benn (Lincoln City), Frankie Sinfield and Teddy Lavelle (FC Halifax Town First Team) who have progressed through the Youth and First Teams into the Premier League, Football League and National League.
