A small number of spaces are available in our FC Halifax Town Foundation community training programme on a Tuesday evening.
Sessions, which are supported by the National League Trust and Foundation sponsors, RSA are open to boys and girls aged 5-16 years (session times vary depending on age).
We deliver a skills based coaching programme, which incorporates the unique game of Futsal and a smaller, heavier ball.
The game and associated training is credited for its role in the development of many of the former great South American and Spanish players.
We use Futsal and a heavier ball particularly in the early years to aid the development of the individual in game situations. The game in terms of developing close dribbling skills, control, moves to beat players and creative passing is excellent and provides the best skill building environment for 11-a-side football.
Children in our sessions are encouraged to develop their technical skill, where we concentrate on developing the core skills of passing, receiving, moving with the ball and confidence, indeed, we encourage our players to develop as talented, creative and confident young footballers within a positive, friendly environment.
As players grow older the focus is still very much on technical development alongside a far greater emphasis on conventional football and the 11-a-side game. In addition to training our groups take part in friendly fixtures.
The Foundation community sessions are the first step in the FC Halifax Town player pathway and those players who show the right attitude and ability may be encouraged to work towards the FC Halifax Town Academy programme.
