We’re delighted to announce that FC Halifax Town Foundation’s holiday camps have been awarded funding as part of the Healthy Holidays Calderdale initiative. Delivered in partnership with Calderdale Council, Community Foundation for Calderdale and the Department for Education this is a national scheme is to ensure that children have access to food and activities over the school holiday periods. The scheme offers free meals and access to children who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.
Our camps are open to boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 12 years (school year 1 to year 7), of all abilities and will help budding Harry Kane’s and Jamie Vardy’s to develop their football skills, increase confidence, whilst keeping active with friends during the holidays. Meals and snacks will be provided to all participants.
As part of the project, FC Halifax Town Foundation have partnered, Youth Sports Nutrition (YSN), a UK company striving to eliminate youth athlete undernourishment, through a variety of educational services and innovative nutrition products.
Through an online seminar YSN will offer families access to wider information to support healthy living. Families will also receive free access to the YSN Kitchen App. The app contains 100s of inspiring recipes that parents and players can make quickly and cheaply, overcoming two of the biggest barriers to eating a balanced diet.
Our superb camps are delivered by qualified and background checked coaches. All of our football courses run within the FC Halifax Town player progression pathway, which follows the FC Halifax Town coaching syllabus and progression of players into our wider Community and Academy coaching sessions.
