FC Halifax Town U19s drew 2-2 away at Eccleshill United on Wednesday afternoon.

There were good chances for both teams throughout the game leading to an equal game which saw the sides draw 2-2 keeping Town above their hosts in the table.

Town kicked off the scoring in the 13th minute from the penalty spot which was struck into the top left corner by Town player Jake Taylor giving the Eccleshill keeper no chance to save the shot.

30 minutes into the game both sides had good chances to score but the Eccleshill side after a slow start were starting to get back into the game and after some good saves by the Town keeper Eccleshill were showing to gain a foothold in the game

On the stroke of half time the Eccleshill number 9 turned well in the Town box and fired a shot into the corner of the net giving the keeper no chance to save.

The goal just before half time looked to give Eccleshill some momentum going into the second half as they quickly went into the lead from a corner after the ball was unable to be cleared by the Halifax players.

The conditions in the game were freezing and going into the last 30 minutes the Town players were still 2-1down and after some fantastic saves by the Town keeper he kept them in the game, but Town were unable to capitalise on these opportunities with most shots blazing over the bar.

In the last 10 minutes Town carried on trying to push for the goal and were given a massive opportunity after a sending off for the Eccleshill team after he retaliated poorly after being tackled.

In the last moment of the game Town whipped in a stunning cross which went over one player and was headed into the top corner by Macauley Smith making the score 2-2 to earn a point for the Shaymen.
