FC Halifax Town travel to Ebbsfleet United for the opening day of the season tomorrow

Letโ€™s look at the last couple of times the two teams met.

26th March 2019

The two sides met at the Shay back in March and it was 6 clean sheets in a row for the Shaymen at home as it finished 0-0

24thNovember 2018

The return fixture was earlier in the season back in November. The Shaymen led by Jamie Fullarton travelled down to Stonebridge Road to take on Ebbsfleet after their FA Cup heroics on the Tuesday night. Ebbsfleet capitalised on all the advantages and took the game to The Shaymen winning the game 4-0. Michael Cheek scored the opening goal of the game in the 24thminute. A goal either side of half time from Chris Bush and Danny Kedwell took the game to 3-0 before Michael Cheek grabbed his second of the game in the 90thminute to really put the game to bed. Halifax have never won at Ebbsfleet.

17thFebruary 2018

Previously at the Shay Stadium between these two occurred in February of last season. Ebbsfleet completed the double over The Shaymen for the 2017/18 season and came away with all three points. Corey Whitely and Luke Coulson scored two goals in 5 minutes for the away side to cancel out Matty Kosyloโ€™s penalty in the 37thminute. The game saw Neil Youngโ€™s only loss as manager after Billy Heathโ€™s departure with 1762 fans at The Shay.

30thSeptember 2017

In one of the early games of the 2017 season, Ebbsfleet once again got the better of The Shaymen. A 2-0 loss for a Billy Heath side which started the season positively. Sean Shields was a bright spark off the bench bagging a double.

25thAugust 2007

This loss came over ten years ago for Halifax Town. Stacy Long scored the only goal of the game to keep all three points at Stonebridge Road.

In only 7 meets between the two sides, Halifax have only won one of the games, drawing one and losing 5. Hopefully, Jamie Fullartonโ€™s men in their fine form can continue their winning streak to take all three points on Saturday.
