FC Halifax Town’s six game unbeaten run was unfortunately ended on Saturday with a tight 2-1 loss away at Dover Athletic. One positive however was the skill and speed added to the game by new Town signing Ryan Gondoh, who joins the club on loan until the end of the season from Colchester. I caught up with Ryan after the game to get his thoughts on the result.

β€œI thought it was a bit unfortunate not get something out of the game, ref played a big part, couple decisions wrong in vital moments as well, bit inconsistent, but we will go again next week.”

Something very clear was that Ryan was able to affect the game as soon as he entered the field of play, I asked Ryan how he found playing for the first time in Town colours when he came onto the field.

β€œThe conditions played a big part, with the wind and everything but I tried to get on the ball and make things happen in the last 10 minutes or so, but I’ll get more game time as the game go on and I’ll show what I can do”

Ryan himself created at least two good chances after coming on in the last ten minutes and he agreed that Town should have come away from the match with something.

β€œCourse, of course we did, we were on them at the end of the game. We could have got a bit more, then again we were a bit unfortunate, so we go on”

Despite only being with the team for two days Ryan said that he was already feeling the love from his new teammates.

β€œThe players have introduced me well, I’ve made a couple friends already, they welcomed me well and I’m looking forward to it.”

As a new signing I asked Ryan about his playing style and what he could bring to the team.

β€œI’m a winger, very direct, I’m a runner, I’m a dribbler, I will create a lot of chances and get a lot of people off their feet.”

Finally, Ryan admitted his excitement to play in-front of a home crowd next weekend.

β€œI’m just excited to play and go out there and show everyone what I can do!”

It’s very clear to me that Ryan is a player with a lot of confidence and one who possesses a lot of skill, he could well play a crucial part in the team in the run up to the end of the season.
