FC Halifax Town boss Billy Heath has spoken about the Boxing Day game as The Shaymen travel to Darlington for their first match back in the town for almost four years.

“We’re in for a tough game against Darlington, but they are exactly the kind of games the players want to play in. They’re at the right end of the table where we aspire to be so it’s going to be tough, but the way we’re both playing it’s bodes well for two good games.”

Heath says the players won’t be intimidated by the Darlington fans, who will see their side play a home game at their new Blackwell Meadows ground for the first time.

“There’s going to be a great atmosphere from both sets of fans and itโ€™s a huge occasion for Darlo, but we can’t let that affect the way we play. We have a job to do and we’re going to try our best to get the result we want.”

Speaking about a depleted squad through injury and suspension, the manager is confident his players can still put in a good performance against one of the league’s best sides.

“We’ve got injuries and we’re still missing Scott Garner but the players that we do have are good enough to win the game and I have to trust that they will perform well enough. The game against Telford wasn’t a great result but the players I chose put in a decent enough performance which is something we can build on ahead of Boxing Day.”
