After FC Halifax Town’s 1-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge, Manager Pete Wild spoke to Shaymen TV to give his thoughts on the game.

“That was probably the best we have played all season,” Wild said. “In terms of our in and out of possession model we were excellent. We do need to take our chances better. But the way we pressed was great. We played the same on Saturday, where we were really unlucky. I thought we played the same on Saturday, but we didn’t get our just rewards. So, to get our just rewards playing the same way and with the same 11, I’m just really pleased.”

Wild named an unchanged 11 to the side that fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat away at Solihull.

“I just felt they did so well on Saturday,” Wild told Shaymen TV. “We played well on Saturday, and I felt it would have been unfair if I had swapped it round. It’s always a bold move and there are some frustrated people on the bench, but the risk paid off.”

Kieran Green netted the only goal of the game in the 12th minute from a corner which was the midfielder’s first goal of the season.

“I thought we were ruthless on corners tonight,” Wild said. “I thought that every time we got the ball into the box we were going to score. So, I’m really pleased with that. We should have been three up at half time, then the games over. Unfortunately, it’s not gone that way and we’ve had to grind it out.”

Town make the trip down to Bromley to face the side who currently sit two places behind the Shaymen.

“It’s another tough place to go,” Wild told Shaymen TV. “It’ll be a completely different plan to what has gone on tonight. They play a very different way to Dagenham so we will have to be ready for that. Also, you chuck in the 3G pitch which always complicates things a bit more as well.”
