FC Halifax return to Vanarama National League action this weekend after last Saturdays 3-1 defeat to AFC Wimbledon in the second round of the FA Cup. This weekend Town will travel down to the London Borough of Barking Dagenham Stadium to face fellow mid-table side Dagenham & Redbridge.

The Shaymen come into the game at the weekend in 16th position with 25 points, but do have a couple of games in hand compared to teams around them in the league. The Daggers are currently one place above Town in 15th 27 points.

The Daggers were not in FA Cup action this past weekend as they lost in the fourth qualifying round to Boreham Wood. They were instead making the long trip north to Hartlepool. The trip was well worth it for the fans who made the journey as they saw their team win 2-1.
This was The Daggers’ fourth win in a row out of five in the league. This run of form for Peter Taylor’s side has seen them rise from 22nd in the league to 15th in under a month.

Taylor has recent loan signing Conor Wilkinson from Gillingham is partly to thank for his side’s recent turn in form. The Irish under 21 striker has already scored four goals since joining The Daggers. Wilkinson is averaging a goal every 71 minutes in the league.

For The Shaymen, Jamie Fullarton and his side will be looking to put the loss to AFC Wimbledon behind them and concentrate in the league. A win for The Shaymen and results going our way could see Town rise to 11th in the Vanarama National League table.
With seven games coming up in the next month including an away trip to Barrow in the FA Trophy. With the added excitement of two derby fixtures against Harrogate Town on Boxing Day and New Years Day to look forward to it’s certainly going to be a busy period for The Shaymen. Fullarton will certainly be looking for contributions from every member of his squad.
