Niall Maher had guided FC Halifax to an important 3-1 win against Woking, the three points were helped push the Shaymen further away from the relegation zone.

β€œWe stuck to the game plan, we showed resilience and character throughout the game. That’s what we got in the dressing room to overcome these things and I think the quality that we showed made us the better team.”

He spoke exclusively to the official site about training with the team.

β€œThey’re a good group and you can see there is a togetherness there. With the position we’re in, we have a good group who are willing to work hard under the new manager.

β€œThey have been very welcoming to me. I know Halifax are a big club themselves, they’ve got a big pedigree and a bright future to come. The lads have said that. It’s a club going in the right direction, so I am happy to be a part of that.”

Niall will now be making his home debut on Tuesday night against Dagenham & Redbridge who are in decent form with three wins in the previous six games however the Daggers will be recovering from a 4-0 home thrashing to Tranmere Rovers.

β€œWe’re expecting a tough game but if we got into it the right way like we did on Saturday then we got a good chance of winning again.

β€œI’m going to be making the most of the facilities that are on offer and trying to eat well so that I can get my body in the best condition to again on Tuesday.”
