The bucket collection pre-match Dagenham will be in favour of the Halifax Disability Football Club.
Founded in 2021 by Chairman Gavin Payne, the Halifax DFC play under the West Riding County FA in the West Riding Ability Counts League. They have approximately 20 players (Adults aged 16 plus) with physical or mental health disabilities and operate 2 teams, one playing in League 1 and the other in League 3. Home matches are played at the 3gi pitch on Shaw Lane near to The Shay.
Last season, the League 1 side finished runners-up not just in the League itself but also at the Doncaster Titans Tournament – two excellent achievements. League fixtures re-commence in October.
Some of the players have been selected for England Mencap trials, with one player representing England in last July’s Home Nations Trophy.
