  1. Palace are the only premier league team ever to be relegated after finishing fourth bottom in 1995, as the number of teams were to be reduced from 22 to 20 for the following season.
  2. They have also been relegated from the premier league on four occasions, no team has been relegated more.
  3. Peter Simpson is the Eagles’ top scorer with 165 goals in just 6 years at the club.
  4. Jim Cannon appeared for the club 660 times in a 15-year spell between 1973 and 1988, a club record.
  5. Their highest ever league position came in the 1990-91 season where they finished third in the top division.
  6. They lost their only FA Cup final in 1990 against Manchester United after a replay.
  7. Former manager Malcolm Allison changed the club’s traditional claret and sky-blue colours for a red and blue kit to replicate that of Barcelona.
  8. Crystal Place shared their home ground of Selhurst Park with Wimbledon from 1991 until 2003 when Wimbledon moved to Milton Keynes.
  9.  Palace were originally nicknamed “the Glaziers” due to them playing their home games at The Crystal Palace before Malcolm Allison changed it to “The Eagles”.
  10. Their highest ever attendance is 51,801, which came against Burnley in 1979.
