FC Halifax Town can confirm the loan signing of attacking midfielder Cruz Allen, from Championship Derby County.
Originally coming through the youth setup at Burton Albion, Allen made the switch to Derby County’s academy at under 10 level. During the 2022/23 season, Allen made four appearances for the under 18 squad, scoring twice whilst still just 16. The following season, whilst a regular for the under 18s, the attacking midfielder also made nine appearances for the under 21 squad.
In November 2023, Allen made his senior debut for the club as a second half substitute in an EFL Trophy win over Wolverhampton Wanderers u21s. That same season, Allen signed his first professional contract with Derby. In February 2026, the attacking midfielder made his league debut for the Rams as a second half substitute in a Championship fixture against Watford.
The attacking midfielder has been capped by Wales from under 15 through to under 19 level. He also featured in the 2024 UEFA European Under-17 Championship. Allen signed a new deal with Derby in the summer. The attacking midfielder also featured in our opening National League cup fixture, playing the full 90 minutes against the Shaymen.
